Browsers Support for Geolocation API

In HTML 5, Geolocaiton is one of the new API or a technology. This API is currently being tested and incorporated in all major browsers, such as Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer 8, and Opera. This feature helps you in finding your current location in the world and lets you share your location with trusted websites. However, there are devices such as IP address, Wireless Network connection (Wi-fi) towers, Bluetooth, Tower of your cell phone, and Global Positioning System (GPS), that can also come into use to locate the user’s current position. But with the advancement of technology, Geolocaiton enables a user to easily gather the loation information while sitting at one place. Mostly mobiles or laptops are equipped with this technology, as it helps to locate their exact whereabouts on the World map. But now Geolocaiton API is embedded in the Web browsers to locate the world over the Internet.

Browser Support of HTML 5

As the web is evolving, there are lot of changes that have been made in HTML and already learned by you, HTML 5 is still evolving. Therefore, HTML 5 is not supported fully by some of the major Web browsers. For example Internet Explorer Web browser till date does not support the new <canvas> tag and the Geoloaiton API.
